Ugh
My friend Kayce once suggested this. I am desperate, so it's worth a shot. So, without further ado: Affirmations.
I, Allison Blass, will not get sick this week.

Hey, do you have a better idea?

The only one I've heard is...
Wash your hands.
Wash your hands.
Wash your hands.
...well, you get the idea. Also, I'm not sure that Vitamin C does much, but it could add a placebo benefit. Blah blah blah... :)
Maybe I should try that....
I woke up this morning with a horrible sore throat. The only thing that is keeping me from going back to bed is a chemistry quiz..
Double doses of vitamin C -- I am not kidding. I've had three cold threats this winter. I've doubled up on my vitamin C each time and avoided getting sick... Give it a try. Get the adult vitamin C at the drug store and start taking one a day -- if you start feeling ill, double up. I know it might not help this time -- but maybe for next?
AIRBORNE!! Our entire office passes it around like candy - we all swear by it, LOL.
My mother is a second grade teacher and I think she takes Airborne religiously. Doesn't always work 100%, but I think she's avoided dying or the plague because of that drug.
I should go to the UO Bookstore and pick some up!
Allison--
Sounds like some good suggestions above... and don't forget to Pray!
I think Airborne only really works if you take it at the very very beginning of getting sick. If you take it while sick it doesn't do too much.
If you look at the ingredients in Airbourne, you'll find it's essentially a multi-vitamin with a double-dose of vitamin C...
Try this--"I don't get sick." (Present tense affirmations tend to work better than future). Also, I don't repeat it over and over. I just accept it as a fact of life like 'Tomorrow is another day.'
It drives my husband crazy, but he still admits it's true. I just don't get sick.
